Each time I sit down to blog a wedding, I struggle to come up with words that describe the day. I genuinely get to photograph the most amazing people who have beautiful weddings celebrating with loving friends and family, but I don’t always know them super well. That can make it difficult for me to feel like my words do them justice. When sharing my frustration with a friend recently, she reminded me that while I might not have a long history with each couple, the way I capture the moments of their wedding day is through photography, not words.
That gave me such a peace, because while I might not have seen when Katie & Jordan became friends or get engaged, I saw the way that Jordan couldn’t keep his eyes off of Katie and the way that her bridesmaids surrounded her with laughter. I got to capture the way that Katie’s mom & Jordan’s mom watched their newlywed children cut the cake and the way that Jordan’s brother carried Katie’s dress so sweetly. That’s why I loved being there for this wedding.
